Hello! I am Haruhi a guide from Yamnuska Mountain Tours. For those of you have never seen me, I wear white hut and red jacket in the picture above. I guided a group of 6 to an ultimate paradise in Canadian Rockies "Lake O'Hara". To start this blog, I would like to thank all the guests from all over Canada joining my trip to this exclusive area. We have been patient enough through these difficult times and it was the high time to spread our wings to this beautiful nature in Lake O'Hara area. We were lucky enough to win this lottery to stay at the historical "Elizabeth Parker Hut" and spent 3 days in the area sucking in its scenic views and fresh air. I guess it has gained its popularity due to the limited number of people allowed to access to this beauty. Only who wins the lottery, gets to enjoy this paradise... Unless you walk 11km gravel road. One of the "must go" spots in the area. We call this McArthur Blue. Honestly, there is no other blue exists in the world. The colour of glacier fed lakes change from time to time, season to season. That means we have to come back at least two more times. Early summer and fall. Two of the "must go" spots in the area. How do you describe this color? The colour of this water is so mesmerizing. What a paradise! Three of the "must go" spots in the area. How many "must go" spots in Lake O'Hara? 1. Lake McArthur 2. Lake Oesa 3. Opabin Lake There are many more lakes that are flowing out of those main lakes which will sure to make you speechless during hikes. There are so much to see and you just have to go and see by yourself. Let me share what the hut life is like. Elizabeth Parker Huts are consisted of two buildings. One was built in 1912 and the other in 1919 settled in nice open meadow. The view from the location is unreal. Am I in the heaven already!? Imagine you wake up to this view every morning. Life is good! During the stay in the hut, we could all interact with each other by sharing our life stories in cozy nights. It feels like a big family for a brief moments! Everyone liked the food he cooked. Breakfast is served! Wakie, waikie. Everyone was super eager to learn the places we went, what we saw, the distance we walked, the elevation we gained... and so on... I definitely call this a quality time! We met a cute little friends during the trip I hope I can see you sometimes soon in the mountains. Stay tuned for all the trips we plan for the future! Until then, goodbye!
