TRIP BLOG 2 // 11-Day Japanese adventure & cultural experience 【16.10.14】

さあ、旅も今日で３日目。今日は東京を後にし、新幹線にて長野へ向かいます。東京から長野は約1時間半。

It's time to leave Tokyo behind today. We speed through the country by the famous Shinkansen, a bullet train!

今年３月にリニューアルされた長野駅。美しい建築デザインが見事で、駅ビルの中のお店も充実！早速バスに乗り、善光寺巡りへ。

Nagano station, only recently re-opened in this March offers a variety of shopping, restaurant, tourism services. Its structure is very unique especially the frame which is done with beautiful woodwork. Check it out!

We take a bus ride to visit Zenko-Ji temple today to worship our safety for the trip ahead!

善光寺、仲見世どおり。ご当地グルメ、お土産やさんが立ち並ぶ仲見世はとても活気があり、ここだけでも楽しめるアトラクションです。Shopping street in the precincts of a temple (shrine) has a lot of shops along the way. Until you walk through the gate that separates a living world and a sacred place, there are many opportunities to enjoy local hospitality.

本堂参拝前に、御手洗場にて身を清めます。

Before visiting the main building, we have ourselves cleansed with using water.

本堂はどっしりと、厳かな雰囲気。参拝者で賑わっていますね。

Impressive. Many people come for a worship, praying for their fortune, health, successful in business.

参拝後は仲見世どおりにあるお蕎麦屋さんへ。善光寺に来たらやっぱり蕎麦でしょー。

After visiting the temple, it is a tradition to have Soba noodles!

今回の旅の拠点となる、なべくら高原・森の家に到着。ここは信越トレイルの事務局でもあり、明日からの信越トレイルハイキングへ向けて、関係者の方々から温かいお出迎えをしていただきました。

This accommodation is our trip headquarters Morinoie, also functioning as Shinetsu Trail club. We had a warm welcome by staff.

今回はじめての温泉です。長旅に疲れた体を癒します。The first dipping in "Onsen (Hote Springs) " of the trip!
そのまま温泉施設にて夕食。地元で採れた食材をフルに生かした地元料理は、最高のおもてなしです！Amazing dinner, prepared with local ingredients. It feels like we are eating seasons.
