Moraine Lake & Larch Valley July 6th 2011

It was another perfect day of hiking in the Rockies yesterday! We hiked to Moraine Lake and Larch Valley. The group was YMT guide James and the Fukuwara family from Langley BC.

We first took some nice pictures at Moraine Lake and checked out the Valley of the 10 peaks, then moved onto the switch-back trail up to Larch Valley. The kids, Kaho and Daichi were full of energy and loved to look for wildlife. We saw lots of Columbian Ground Squirrels and some ravens as well.

At the upper meadows of Larch Valley we had lunch, relaxed and took in the great scenery. The kids and I also played in the snow and skipped stones on the pond.

We were very lucky to have few people as it was a weekday and awesome weather too. At the end of the day we were tired but happy to have seen the beautiful alpine mountains.
